Devavrata Singh, an Architect by profession and MBA by force, is an avid traveler and tradition explorer.
The famous quote for Architects "We observe Celebration and celebrate Space" perfectly suits me.
i draw huge inspiration from our traditional architecture and practices. I firmly believe that all cultures across the world developed themselves in harmony with nature. In India too, we practiced sustainability as a way of life or we may say it was our religion. The way we respect every other existence- trees, plants, animals, birds, water bodies, mother earth, the sun, the moon, the air, everything- clearly indicates that we are only a small part of this whole system.
As per vaastushastra, our ancient treatise on architecture, buildings have a soul. They grow and outgrow, they respond to humans or us living in them. And when we believe building to be living, sustainability suddenly becomes real. Just like humans, building consume resources and generate waste. We have to minimize both and make all buildings on this earth as truly sustainable. That is truly what we want to practice in architecture.
Honestly speaking, practicing sustainability or making highly efficient buildings was never so easy as it is today. With the help of super efficient tools that we have today for whole building simulation, daylight analysis, CFD analysis, material consumption, structural stability and practically every aspect related to buildings, buildings can be designed as super buildings. However this requires a detailed knowledge of these tools.
We welcome you to a new world, where we do not intend to make Greening as paste on to the original design. But the design itself starts from the word 'Green' just as the way all our traditional system were.
So come aboard and experience the joy of making this world a better place to live.
